COMPONENT TRACEABILITY

Make documentation part of the sourcing requirement.

Traceability expectations vary by project and source. Declare the required document chain, label evidence and packaging information before quotation so the proposed option can be evaluated correctly.

01

Source-specific scope

Document availability depends on the proposed supply option and cannot be inferred from a catalogue listing.

02

Part-number control

Full ordering codes, suffixes, package type and quantity should align across the requirement and quotation.

03

Pre-order agreement

Required records and any limitations are confirmed before the order is accepted.

WORKFLOW

Build a clear documentation trail.

  1. 01

    List required records

Specify labels, packaging photos, date code, source documents or inspection reports needed.

  2. 02

    Check the proposed option

The sourcing team reviews which records can accompany the quoted supply.

  3. 03

    Resolve gaps

Missing or limited evidence is identified before customer approval.

  4. 04

    Retain order references

Keep quotation, order, shipment and received-goods evidence connected to the same MPN and quantity.

CONFIRM BEFORE ORDER

Common traceability requirements

Traceability is not the same as manufacturer authorization. Chain Technology does not describe itself as an authorized distributor unless a specific relationship can be independently verified.

SOURCE-TO-SHIPMENT

Connect the quoted source to the shipped component.

  1. 01Supplier
  2. 02PO / source
  3. 03Full MPN
  4. 04Date / lot code
  5. 05Packaging
  6. 06Inspection
  7. 07Evidence report
  8. 08Shipment
